Dr. Jeanne Ohm co-founded a family wellness care practice in 1981 with her husband, Dr Tom. They have six children and eight grandchildren who were all born at home and are living the chiropractic family wellness lifestyle
Dr Ohm is an instructor, author, and innovator. Her passion is: training DC’s with specific techniques for care in pregnancy, birth & infancy, forming national alliances for chiropractors with like-minded perinatal practitioners, empowering mothers to make informed choices, and offering pertinent patient educational materials.
She is Chief Executive officer of the ICPA and Executive Editor of Pathways to Family Wellness magazine.
This presentation will offer you a greater understanding of chiropractic in the role in perinatal care for better birth outcomes. You will review the need for chiropractic care throughout pregnancy to promote normal physiological function in birth.
This class will present the salutogenic care model and Porges theory of the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) and nervous system function relating to normal pelvic physiology. You will review the nervous system and its effects on Physiological/ Neuro-biomechanical, Technocratic and Emotional causes of dystocia.
Through education and specific care, practitioners can heighten the mother’s awareness of nervous system function and its impact on normal physiology in pregnancy and birth.
